Synlab was looking for an informative and engaging video to explain their work in the field of genetic testing. Ahunderandten had previously worked with them on another explainer video. It was important to keep the design consistent going for a 2.5D look, working in 3D but giving the appearance of a 2D illustration style. Compositing it all in After Effects.

It was very fun and interesting to work with the 2D vector designs in a 3D program. We built all our scenes in Cinema 4D, materialized, rigged and animated the characters there, and leveraged the Mograph tools to simplify some animations, while also having more freedom with the camera movement.
